Television, friend or faux??
I have always had this feeling that children watching television is really bad. I remember once watching a documentary and on it a child was strapped in a high chair and sat in front of the television. I was disgusted, i always thought my children won't watch television. Obviously this is easier said than done, pretty much everybody has a television, and pretty much everywhere you go has a television, we have one in our home as well so this didn't exactly go to plan. Jo frost advises suitable television in moderation, along with most people surrounding us we were well aware of cbeebies. For cheeky's first year the only time he really saw any of it was at my sisters house, my nephew was quite into, In The Night Garden and Waybuloo. Cheeky wasn't really interested in it tbh. Obviously as he got older he developed and interest but never an obsession and i definitely relaxed my no television rule, deciding i didn't want to make him 'different' and if i am honest cbeebies is kind of great if i have housework to do or a call to make. Having said that television time is still limited, and i do watch an episode of anything before he watches it to make sure it isn't filling his head with rubbish. I must say the majority of cbeebies is educational. So for the time being cheeky's favourites are Chuggington, Zingzilla's and Everything is Rosie, up until very recently he loved Waybuloo and In The Night Garden, he still loves the merchandise but is overly fussed about watching them. I really hope i am doing this right, i would never just sit him in front of the television he is always free to play.... so am i a hypocrite or just realistic!!!
